Working closely with mentors from the field, young people writing for the stage develop their perspectives on the world.
Six Playwrights will be Selected
Once selected we match each student with a mentor to help them develop their script for production. From February through June, the young writers are offered guidance and coaching in how to best structure their plot, create dynamic characters, and write believable and meaningful dialogue.
If selected, playwrights meet virtually, as guided by each mentor, from February through June.
Final drafts will be due at the end of May 2027 and put into the hands of directors and actors.
Playwrights are invited to attend rehearsals, beginning June 22 and are required to be in Saint Paul June 25 and 26 for final rehearsals and performance.
